Katherine Matics, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC

Dr. Matics is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Assistant Professor in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at RUSH University College of Nursing. 

With over 12 years of nursing experience, her clinical practice has ranged from inpatient rehabilitation, hospice, school-based health centers, and most recently federally-qualified health centers where she has been providing primary care across the lifespan in a medically-underserved community in Chicago. 

She received her DNP from Rush University and has been involved in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nurses, and National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties.

Her primary clinical interests and scholarship are centered around improving access and quality of care in underserved communities and training nurse practitioner students. 

She is passionate to empower Family Nurse Practitioners in the unique care they provide through providing ongoing, high-quality education tailored to the needs of the FNP.
