Katherine Chike-Harris PhD, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC, FNP-BC, CNE, FAANP

Dr. Chike-Harris earned her PhD (2024), DNP (2011), MSN (pediatrics; 2009) and BSN (2007) from the Medical University of SC and her post-master’s FNP certification (2021) from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Dr. Chike-Harris is an assistant professor and Director of Education Innovation & Improvement at the Medical University of SC College of Nursing. Her research interests include telehealth education integration into health professionals’ education and optimizing health outcomes using telehealth. She is considered an international expert in telehealth and/or its education, presenting 7 posters and 38 podium presentations at local, state, national and/or international conferences over the past 5 years.

Dr. Chike-Harris is a well-respected author in the telehealth field, having written five book chapters and 17 peer-reviewed journal articles on topics like telehealth education integration, policy, physical exams, and best practices. For the past 17 years, she’s provided primary care to rural and underserved pediatric communities. She now works as a school-based telehealth clinic provider, managing both acute and chronic conditions—partnering with an interprofessional team for the latter—across South Carolina. Her dedication to telehealth and improving pediatric health earned her the NAPNAP Presidential Commendation in 2022, 2023, and 2025. She’s also a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nursing, recognizing her significant impact on education and clinical practice.
