Emily Stevens, PHD Candidate, MSN, RN, FNP-BC

 Emily Stevens is a faculty instructor in the nurse practitioner program at James Madison University with over a decade of clinical practice experience in primary care. Currently her clinical practice is focused on obesity medicine and she works to increasing access to health care for underserved populations as a regular NP volunteer at the Blue Ridge Free Clinic.

 She earned her MSN from the University of Virginia and is a PhD candidate working on her dissertation at Virginia Commonwealth University.  Her research interest surrounds women in midlife with treatment resistant obesity.  Emily is a board certified family nurse practitioner and has also earned a certificate of advanced education from the Obesity Medicine Association.
